As video game developers we often get pulled into the land of publishers. While its good to have someone backing your game, it also tends to focus games towards trends, numbers and executive goals. This has sucked the life out of most games and killed off many good studios. 
Well here is your chance to be part of a game where the fun is the focus. To do this, we are going to need your help to put the finishing touches on the game, join our beta and help us get the word out.
The Kickstarter funding will be used to

• Finalize marketing and publishing material for Steam
• Finish production of the game trailer
• Set up beta testing equipment
• Develop more vehicles and weapons
• Add finishing touches to gameplay and levels

The game is called Ravaged, a post-apocalyptic vehicular first-person shooter. Think Mad Max meets Battlefield where a group of resistance soldiers fight for humanity while scavengers look to control it all.

The game features over 30 vehicles and weapons, amazing post-apocalyptic maps and 10 classes to choose from.

EvilCards lives up to its title by offering a violent way to play traditional card games. While the game play is fun, there were some hurdles that nearly derailed the program along the way.

The program's interface initially impressed us with its simple navigation between games and its professional-looking graphic design. However, we were disappointed that the program offers no Help file or instructions and often requires a lot of frustrating experimentation to learn. EvilCards offers a twisted take on classic card games like Blackjack, Hearts, Poker, and a few others. Once we'd managed to decipher the controls, we had a blast playing these games. The program even offers a neat feature that let you invent your own card game from a quick, simple menu of options. While its controls and interface need work, the game play was so fun we nearly forgot our early troubles. The program got really interesting when our table included computer-generated opponents who looked like Vikings. We were surprised there was no money to wager, but soon realized the evil element of this game came when a losing hand drew a physical beating. As the game progressed, players grew more bruised and bloodied until they died, which means literally the last man standing won the hand.

EvilCards is a free game. It comes as a compressed file and installs desktop icons without permission. While its controls are a bit rocky, the unusual and amusing game play makes up for it, and we recommend this program.

Tested spyware free Touch Racing Nitro lets you race around complex tracks with sharp curves, jumps, and obstacles using only one finger to control your car. The game offers a tutorial for learning the one-finger controls, and we recommend starting there first, because it's a little tricky. The two main game modes in Touch Racing Nitro are the Free Racing mode and the Tournament mode. Free racing comes in handy to practice your one-finger driving skills with no time limits and no opponents. But once you start a Tournament, you'll need to race against three computer-controlled opponents and try for the best position to unlock tracks and more Tournaments. As you progress you'll be able to compete in indoor races, 4x4 Monster Truck races, and the high-speed Supertrax Cup. There are 12 vehicles in all (along with custom paint jobs) and 18 challenging tracks to explore.
The control system in Touch Racing Nitro takes time to learn and the one-finger racing--though effective--is not without its drawbacks. The idea is that you touch the track ahead of your car to make it accelerate; the farther away from your car you touch, the faster you go. When you want to slow down for sharp turns, bring your finger closer to your car. After some practice we were able to be competitive with the computer racers, but the biggest problem was not being able to see enough of the track. Unfortunately, the one-finger racing mechanic often means your finger and hand obscure large parts of the screen while racing. Clearly this is not ideal and may even be a good argument for grabbing the iPad version (should you decide to buy an iPad). Though I think Touch Racing Nitro has a lot to offer with a unique control system, several tracks, and challenging race modes, we're not sure it's worth the $3.99 (at the time of this review). In other words: it's a good game, but you may want to wait for a price drop.

Beware, after playing just one game of Moraff's "MahJongg 2009," you'll find yourself eager to come back and play more. We just wish the trial period lasted longer.

The user interface is colorful, easy to navigate, and offers users a few extra features. Prominent menu buttons reside at the top of the window, and allow you to choose from different game designs, and apply game settings, such as the number of matches, and tile-set displays. There also are buttons to undo and redo moves. In terms of extras, you'll find a radio that plays soothing music to get you in the mood to play mah-jongg, and almost the entire user interface, down to the cursor, is customizable. The game tiles are bright and colorful without being too busy. If you're new to the game of mah-jongg, an extensive Help menu will have you up and playing in no time. We jumped right in, clicking the tiles to make matches, and we liked the score and ranking information that appeared after the game was over.

The one downside to the program is its 14-use trial, which is pretty stingy. But it's still plenty of time for experienced and novice users alike to become highly addicted to this well-designed version of mah-jongg.
